The use of solar energy for space- and tap water heating is expanding in Europe as well as in other industrialized countries. SOLARNOR was one of the first companies which introduced an integrated solar system based on engineering plastic materials. Engineering plastics is today seen as the key for making solar thermal energy competitive to conventional heating sources.

The SOLARNOR collector is consisting of two twin-wall sheets of high temperature resistant plastics, fixed in an aluminium frame. The solar radiation is converted to heat in the absorber sheet. Pure water is trickling through a channel structure, absorbs the heat which is deposited in the absorber and carries the heat to a heat store.

The SOLARNOR collector is a modular building element serving as the skin of roof- or façade. The solar collector delivers heat to a heat central, which is the heat source for low temperature room heating and domestic hot water. The solar collector is also suitable for production of domestic hot water in larger systems like hospitals, hotels, sport facilities etc.

The SOLARNOR collector is a standard building element that can replace other types of roof- or facade coverings, and that can be utilized in a varity of architectural solutions. The modular structure opens for flexible adaptions. The building modules come in different lengths up to 6 metres.
